OVERDRIVE finalThere’s still five and a half months before my YA novel OVERDRIVE drops—but I couldn’t pass up the chance to spend a month talking about it.

Fast cars, cute guys, a kick-ass protagonist, and the hot Vegas sun—OVERDRIVE is a culmination of all my favorite things. Which is why for this year’s blogging challenge, I am doing the A to Z of OVERDRIVE. (I know, you're shocked!)

Not familiar with the A to Z Blogging Challenge? Get the full details here. And then buckle up because you’re in for one hell of a fun ride.

P.S. Comment on or share the posts throughout the month for a chance to WIN an advanced reader copy of OVERDRIVE!

I intended to make this post about amazing vehicles driven by superheroes, but either my Google skills are lacking, my memory is fading, or only Batman got a cool ride. Seriously guys, what am I missing?

Not that I'd turn down a chance to take a spin around the block in the Batmobile. I mean, look at this thing...

batmobile barris

This particular model was built by George Barris (shown here), known as the King of the Kustomizers. His creations are legendary in the world of television and motion pictures, and his personal collection includes everything from the General Lee (gah!) to Torino Green Hornet and Monkee Mobile. Unfortunately, Barris passed November, 2015—but his legendary cars live on. The guy was a genius.

In OVERDRIVE, Barris is Nick Barker's idol, and this particular car makes a guest appearance during one of the boosts.

My friend Matt affectionately calls my old RX-8 the "Batmobile" (even though I repeatedly tell him her name is "Anne"), and I admit, the two vehicles have similar lines. But somehow, I don't think "Anne" is nearly as collectible. Damn.

I know, a bit of a cop-out "S" post. My intentions were good though—I just couldn't find what I was looking for. Do YOU know of any Superhero vehicles?

Back tomorrow with a cool "T" post—for realz.

~ Dawn
